Brush will be picked up twice each month during the season. The season begins in April and, weather permitting, continues through mid October.
The village is divided at Corning Avenue, and brush from Corning Avenue north will be picked up on the first and third Monday of the month (weather permitting). Brush at homes south of Corning Avenue will be picked up on the second and fourth Monday of each month (weather permitting). Should your scheduled pick up day fall on a holiday, the brush will be collected the following day.
There will be no brush collection on a fifth Monday of the month.
Brush should be placed in the parkway close to the curb by 6:00 a.m. Monday.
The limbs should be no longer than six feet and stacked parallel to the curb in a stack less than four feet high. Please keep a one foot space between piles. Small twigs, leaves, branches with thorns, and grass clippings are not chipper material and must be placed in A&J/Star Disposal yard waste bags for the regular yard waste collection. Please note that if you hire a service to cut down a tree, you must arrange with that service to haul the tree from your site. The village will not be able to put the tree through the chipper.
Each Fall the Department of Streets and Alleys collects leaves from residential parkways. The program guidelines are:
No parking on street after 2″ of snowfall until streets have been plowed and clear. Do not plow or shovel snow from your driveway into the street.
Citations will be issued for violations.
